These are great at relieving pressure on joints – I use them mostly under my wrists when working on the microscope, and they provide instant and long-lasting relief during long days at work.The price is a little steep, but I tried several other similar pads on Amazon, hoping to find a cheaper alternative and these were by far the best. So I ended up spending another $26 to buy a second one since my left wrist was getting jealous from my right. The other models I tried were either too hard or too slippery against the desktop surface, so it made more sense to just spend a bit extra and get a superior product that I can enjoy many times day, several days a week.I can see how people might have problems if they apply heavy pressure to these pads, like resting lots of weight on their elbows. The material is very soft and gel-like and I imagine it would get messed up by heavy pressure, but for mild to moderate pressure, these are perfect. The top-side material is very soft and the gel feels cool to the touch and very soothing. Highly recommended.

I was recently diagnosed with cubital tunnel syndrome, so I bought this pad to protect my elbow from the hard surface of the armrest on my car door. The 4.5″x8.5″ pad was a good size for my armrest–not too big, but big enough to cover plenty of area where my elbow might rest. I attached it to the armrest with adhesive Velcro pads. Works very well. The gel pad is very soft, especially compared to the surface of the armrest. The fabric cover comfortably prevents excessive friction and insulates my elbow from the cool temperature of the gel. Since there’s no fabric covering the bottom, it didn’t interfere with the adhesive Velcro pad. I’m already noticing that my elbow is less irritated, especially on longer drives.
