I wanted something that was heavy enough to hold down small stacks of little notes or receipts that I place on my desk and night table. It seems to do the job. Still, I wish it was dull on one side of the weight because at times if the stack of notes tilt a bit and the paper weight slides off! I am thinking I will stick some blank sticky lables on one side of the weight to keep them from sliding off. For those of you who think that these weights double as a magnifying glass due to the picture you see on the Amazon catalog – it is not!
