works well but would be useful if it had a white side. Successful scanning of an object is made a lot easier if the object and the background (scanning pad) are a substantially different color. Want to scan something that’s dark (dark paper)? A light scanning pad helps a lot.

I fold mine to put it away. The neoprene it is made from keeps it from creasing. But then I don’t put anything heavy on top of it when stored. You could alternately roll it up like a yoga mat. In use it sits perfectly flat and works great for the purpose it was made for. It will also contour itself if you put a book or two under one end to prop up photo frames against.I also use it when I’m scanning and depositing checks into my bank account : -)
