   I love this mat because it is slightly thicker than all the others I have had. The feel to it is just really great. It feels like quality and it is. The Japanese design is really nice and it’s just the right color to contrast with my pink keyboard. Has a rubberized type undercoating which keeps it from slipping around. I do not give out 5 stars often but this one is a winner!

   I rate this item : ★★★★★ (5/5) As an active gamer, blogger, and home office warrior I burn through full size mouse pads every year. Most are too slippery, too thin, and the rest just get nasty with grime from food spills.This unit will be treated with care, I’m actually shocked at the beauty of the item. I was expecting just okay graphics, especially at the price, but the quality of the silk screening and accuracy of the Japanese historical scenery is outstanding. I have lived in Asia, and married to an Asian spouse; we get a good laugh at typical “Asian themed designs”, most of which are just either nonsense or include jibberish words. This unit actually portrays scenery that is historically accurate, and the intricacy of the detail is unbelievable.Ok, enough with the artwork kudos, I’m supposed to be reviewing its use as a “full desk mousepad”, So here goes:PROS:- Accurate to size as measured- Material is thick enough to provide good shock absorption and reduce fatigue.- Material surface is tacky enough to keep the keyboard in place even with keyboard slamming gamers, yet smooth enough to allow a standard optical mouse to move freely. I use a trackball, but did try it with an optical mouse to verify.- Edges are machine cut and round stitched for a nice look, it also helps the longevity of the pad by preventing fraying.- Lie flats, no curly edges or wrinkles under the monitor stand.Cons:- It did have a rubber smell when it was first opened, it’s smells of stale cigarettes, sort of like how your clothes smell the night after clubbing. However, after placing it outside on a patio (without rain !) overnight the smell was completely gone.I am chomping at the bit to recommend this product at five stars, heck I would give it six stars if available. It’s a mousepad, work of art; my goal from now forward is no more eating or drinking on the computer to prevent spills. I did not include any photos as none would accurately reproduce the artwork, but trust me that the colors and design are more than worth the price.
