   I wanted something to elevate my desk at work and look, elegant for my excess of pens and pencils. This really looks great on my desk. It’s really nicely made and it’s quite heavy, which gives off an expensive feel.

   This is a heavy marble decor piece that just happens to function as a pen set holder. It’s heavy enough to handle the job without toppling over, and it looks attractive on my desk.Please note that it doesn’t have a bottom, so you will only be able to store pens/pencils that have a cap in order to avoid leaving a mark on your table/desk.I like it. It looks and functions great! I think this would make a unique gift for someone who loves their pen sets.I recommend it.

   Overall, I’m pretty happy with this pen holder. It is quite heavy and stable, difficult to knock over. I placed it on the reception desk in our office to hold promotional pens, and it’s perfect for the job.The bottom of the pen holder is completely open – I do wish that it had an actual bottom rather than a round opening, as it would do a better job of protecting the surface that it’s on.I’d say this has a fairly high-end look, and is a nice upgrade to a pencil cup or other cylindrical holder.I’d imagine it would also make an attractive toothbrush holder.Overall, I’d happily recommend with very few caveats.

   First of all, this was clearly a return. It was packed in a mangled box that had been taped over several times. The product was fine, but this seems like one of those situations where the customer can choose a returned product for a slight discount, or receive a brand new product, as per what was ordered.Second, I chose the travertine material, and mine is sort of dingy. The color looks like concrete. Obviously, natural materials can and do vary, but the look of the piece is quite different than the product photos. Of the two available options, travertine and white marble, I still prefer the one I chose.Lastly, though, my husband had been really irritated about keeping our toothbrushes in a cup whose bottom would slowly fill with cruddy water. He didn’t like having to remember to wash it out every so often. Since I really wanted to keep our toothbrushes upright, I was glad to find this odd little object that does exactly that. It’s a pesky household problem that I’m happy to have solved, and this is an interesting, almost sculptural solution!
