When I first got this, I didn’t like it. The pockets are tiny compared to the main compartment and are flush with the back of the pack. The pockets are not tiered, either, so pens/pencils have no discernible difference as to whether they are in the main compartment or one of the pockets.It’s nice that the front part hinges down magnetically, but the top of the back part is still substantial enough to cast a shadow on the contents. So it is hard to see the colors of your utensils.There is no carying handle.However, after using this for a while I have come to love it. I don’t use the pockets just the main compartment. If I wear a headlamp the shadow is not a problem. It nicely displays all 48 of my pens with ease.I find myself reaching for this pen case every time I’d like to draw. Out of the many options I’ve tried, this is my favorite one. Highly recommend

Really like the design of the case however, The cheap zipper broke shortly after getting it. I put a new zipper in and it is working great now for storage.

Understand..I am a pencil case junkie. I own lots. THIS is my fav one of all. I Bible Journal and I do a lot of it not at my home. This bag holds EVERYTHING I need. It holds 40 pens, gel markers and zebra markers, a 6” ruler, a pack of grid note cards, a wire-out pen and a ring of washi tape. PLUS in other inside pockets and outside pockets I stash book markers, scissors and clear and colored sticky notes. I fold the top back to easily get to all the stuff inside. I own several of the stand up type that hold less and the magnet is not as strong as this one. The magnet on this bag goes all the way across the front. It is extremely strong and the bag is very stable – no tip overs. Buy this bag..it’s the only one you need!!
