There isn’t anything surprising about this bible cover. It looks exactly like it does on the description and photos. It appears to made from actual leather, although it is all a uniform color and doesn’t have the weathered custom look yet. I guess you have to tote your bible around for a long time to look like you have been reading it.The zippers work well, and it came with a leather cross with scripture engraved on it.It isn’t fancy, just basic and nice. It should hold up for a good long time.

Having recently started a more regular habit of Bible reading, and wanting to be able to take my reading with me to coffee shops, libraries, etc., I was on the lookout for a good Bible cover or bag to hold everything I’d need, but still be fairly compact. I am very glad I stumbled upon this particular item — it’s just perfect for my needs!It’s straightforward and high quality. I don’t mind the more decorated Bible covers/bags, but for my own purposes I really wanted something more classic and low-key. This is functional and understated, and it’s just full of slots and pockets for your highlighters, pens, sticky-notes, and so forth. (These are not included.) It’s compact, yet roomy — you could fit a whole Bible in here (a moderately-sized one) or a study volume comprising one book, or a few books — anything in the 8″ x 11″ x 2.25″ size range. If the volume you are carrying is small enough that you have extra space, you can put a little journal or notebook in there. On the exterior, there’s a sturdy handle, and a pocket that closes with a good-quality zipper. Lastly, as a nice surprise, it includes a leather cross-shaped bookmark.This is a great carrying-case and I recommend it!
