Wow, I wasn’t expecting the strong odor, you will want to air these out beforehand.I wanted an elastic pen holder for my planner and these will work fine. I liked the color choices and how the elastic matches each color perfectly instead of the usual basic black or white elastic giving these a chic monochrome look.These elastic pen holders are each only meant to hold one pen, pencil or fine point marker with a snug fit. They will not hold a fat highlighter or a crayola marker for example, the opening is for narrow writing utensils only. They may even be able to hold an apple pen.The material is a very soft, faux leather. The elastic band has enough resistance and doesn’t feel too cheap. I wouldn’t be stretching these more than you absolutely need to because they look to have the potential to become loose and stretched out over time.One of the pen holders looked to not have a slit in it at first, but then I realized the elastic just needed to be switched around then I found it. The price is fair for the quality you are getting at almost one dollar per elastic pen holder, however I did take a star off for the smell.See pics for reference.

I use this on my many (way too many) shape not tune books. Fits well. That way I have a pencil with me at each singing, regardless of the book we’re using, and I’m not closing the book on the pencil. I broke the back of one of my best books that way. So the slings really serve well.
